Builder: Austin Organ Co., Opus 1218, 1920s Manuals: 2 Ranks: 7 Action: Universal Airchest System Notes: The Austin was a stock model in its own free standing case in the balcony of the original hospital chapel. In 1976, a new facility was built, replacing the old hospital buildings. The pipework and console of the organ were removed when the chapel was demolished. The Austin chests went down with the building. Pipes were moved across the street to Holy Name of Jesus Parish where some of them replaced 1960's additions to the 1917 Austin in that location. The console was used to revive a pipe organ in Wisconsin - the instrument had been replaced by an electronic, but the pipes had been left in place. |
