Following a merger with the Evangelical United Brethren, plans were made for a new sanctuary and organ. In 1968, First Methodist purchased a small Wicks instrument, Opus 4793, as a "temporary" organ (that organ is now at First Church of Christ Scientist, Madison). It wasn't until 1992, that the new Austin organ was installed.
