Builder: Austin Organs Inc., 2001 Originally: Austin Organ Co., Opus 1301, 1925 revised McGaw Organ Co., 1970 Manuals: 4 Ranks: 78 Action: Universal Air Chest System Notes: In 2001, the organ was completely releathered and rewired. A new 4-manual console was built, reusing the ivory keyboards from the original console and incorporating solid state multiplex control systems. Significant tonal changes were made as well, with the goal of returning the organ to a more consistent romantic/orchestral character, while at the same time addressing the lack of clarity that prompted the 1970 alterations. The existing pipe work was cleaned, repaired, and in some cases revoiced. Two new auxiliary chests and fourteen ranks of new pipes were added, some restoring stops that were lost in 1970, and others replacing existing ranks, including the entire Great chorus which was an unhappy combination of 1925 and 1970 work.
