Notes: The organ was originally built in 1894 by L.C. (Lewis Condit) Harrison & Sons of New York City. It was their Opus 1354. The instrument was originally installed in St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church in Stottville, NY. When St. Barbabas church was being converted into condominiums (in 1978), the organ was dismantled and shipped to the Lance Johnson Organ Co. in Fargo, ND. They reinstalled the instrument in the balcony at First Lutheran in Mandan, ND in 1979. Information from the Organ Historical Society and Pastor Lee Herberg of the church. Photos from Jackie Schultz. In 2010, the David Salmen Organ Company in Wessington Springs, SD gave the organ an ‘historical restoration.’ All the pipes were removed, revoiced and reinstalled. Salmen had to replace a few pipes. The organ is no longer tuned to A-440, but now somewhat sharper as was the original instrument. Information from the Organ Historical Society and Pastor Lee Herberg of the church.
