Skinner Opus 490 (1924) in 1963. Skylight in chancel is a result of rebuilding after the fire. -- Noack's first large contract, and certainly one of the largest American-built tracker organs of the time. -- Collapsed toe repairs, 2016 by Grandall & Engen and the Noack Organ Company. CASEWORK: The organ case shall be made according to the suggestions
of the Church's architect. However, final word shall be granted to
the Builder, in all questions regarding the design and construction
of the organ. The case shall be made from rift sawn oak or other
hardwood of equal or better qualities. If cherry wood is desired by
Owner, extra cost of obtaining same in excess of cost of oak will be
negotiated in writing. The Great division is to be placed in the
upper center of the main case, the Swell below the Great, the Pedal
on both sides of the two divisions. The Choir is to be notched into
the gallery rail in separate case. The organblower might be
installed in a separate box, made in a similar style and finish to
the other organ parts, to be located close to the main case. Total cost: $51,770.00 2018: New walkboard installed in the back of the case. Hookdown couplers changed to lighted toe studs, added to combination action. |
