Builder: Hall Organ Co, 1916 Manuals: 3 Stops: Ranks: Action: Electro-pneumatic (pitman) Notes: By 1914 the Johnson was failing mechanically, most likely due to wide temperature and humidity changes found in Minnesota. In May of 1916 the vestry authorized a new organ for $6,500, installed before New Year, 1917. The Hall organ retained about half the pipes from the Johnson. This instrument was moved from the second to the third church at 6th and Pleasant in 1931 into chambers that did not allow the organ to speak well into the room. By the late 1950's the organ was malfunctioning, again because of humidity. In 1961 a new Austin console was installed during the tenure of Pat Manning, but plans were underway for I-35E. In December 1973 the congregation moved to its fourth building in Woodbury, incorporating some decorations from the old building. The organ was not moved. The Austin console was sold to First Presbyterian of Duluth for $1500. The vacated building was destroyed in a fire in the winter of 1974. The congregation acquired its fourth organ.
