Builder: Wangerin Organ Co, 1922 Moved here in 1953 by Harry Iverson, John Grant Manuals: 2 Ranks: 22 Action: Electropneumatic Notes: Originally built for Salem English Lutheran in Minneapolis, it was removed from Salem in 1952-53 by Harry Iverson, Dr. John C. Grant, and members of the parish. It was reconfigured with new wind chests and some new pipes. The Wangerin console was discarded and a Lyon & Healey console used in its place. The pipes are installed in two side-by-side chambers on the left side of the nave behind a decorative grill. The console is behind a matching grill on the right side. Though advertised as 24 ranks, it is in fact 22. Some ranks were new in 1953, as indicated below. Parts of this organ are approaching the 100 year mark, while the "new" portions from 1953 are now 68 years old. This is prime time for organ leathers to fail, and this organ is showing significant signs of age and it is no longer completely reliable having numerous dead notes. The chambers are also extremely dirty, showing signs of bat habitation. The legacy of Dr. Grant (pictured below) is much loved by the congregation. The stoplist listed here is from 1953, including the original 17 ranks of Wangerin.
