Studio A, WCAL
Builder: Wicks Organ Co, Opus 2293, 1941
Manuals: 3
Ranks: 19
Action: Wicks Direct Electric

Notes: Radio broadcast Studio A in Hector Skifter Hall, WCAL radio building. Tonally finished by Henry V Willis, with the exception of the Great Trumpet. In 1967 it was still used for assigned practice, but was so filled with ciphers that students stopped using it. Removed by Rutz and installed at Evangelical Covenant church in North Mankato, MN. When the congregation built a new church, the organ was distributed for parts.
Studio A was used for many years for broadcasts of Norwegian language worship services where the organ was heard. The room is known for the carved beams by art professor Arnold Flaten. As a broadcast studio, the walls were lined with acoustic tile and the room was completely dead. Films were shown here for the students.
