Builder: Reuter Organ Co, Opus 133, 1924 Manuals: 2 Ranks: 19 Action: Electro-pneumatic Notes: A letter from the "Northern Office" of Reuter in New Ulm to the factory, dated 24 Sept 1924, implies this was an electrification of the original Vogelpohl & Spaeth. "Make a fine job of everything even if it is not for a Reuter organ." Most of the letter deals with details of the electric console, addition of a Vox Humana "with chest and box, voice it for real music". There is indication of needing a case, but no dimensions. He ordered two swell motors ("I want to have their carpenter make the shades") and 500 magnets. "Wire the console for 73 pipes and 32 in the pedal. They may later want it." The original Vogelpohl from 1905 may have been tubular pneumatic, and it may have had a few sub or super couplers. It likely would not have had the full complement as specified for the new console. However, the photo indicates it was mechanical. The author wants the console and Vox Humana sent to the church, but the magnets sent to him -- presumably he was making an electropneumatic pull-down mechanism and placing the original Vogelpohl chests and pipes inside new chambers. There is no author's name, and no further details of what he was doing, but we can assume it was Ernest Vogelpohl who worked for Moller, Reuter and Wicks.
