Builder: Kilgen, 1940s. Manuals: 2 Ranks: 9 Action: Electro-pneumatic Notes: https://catholiceldercare.org/about-us/st-anthony-padua-chapel/ The Kilgen organ was removed in 1980 (the parish had installed a digital instrument). Parts of the organ were used in several Twin Cities' churches including St. Mark's Cathedral (high-pressure Trumpet in the balcony antiphonal division and a Cornopean used in Olivet Methodist Church in Robbinsdale). The solid-oak, roll-top console was made into a desk. --Twin Cities' AGO members. There was no Kilgen there in the late 1950's when, during my late teen years, I was a volunteer organist for one of the Sunday services. What I played was a Wurlitzer electronic organ, a classical, not theater-style instrument. The sound came from one large speaker box sitting on a 2x4 frame. I think the organ used some sort of reed system for some of the stops...2 manuals, AGO pedalboard. Sounded terrible, but it gave me a chance to play for more tha just my own amusement. --Gene Audette, 1/4/2023 GREAT ORGAN 8' Diapason 85 8' Melodia 85 8' Dulciana 73 4' Octave 4' Flute 4' Dulciana 2' Flute 8' Trumpet 73 SWELL ORGAN 16' Gedackt (TC) 8' Geigen Principal 85 8' Stopped Diapason 97 8' Salicional 73 8' Voix Celeste (TC) 61 8' Oboe (derived synthetic) 4' Flute 4' Octave 2' Flute 8' Cornopean 85 4' Cornopean PEDAL ORGAN 16' Bourdon (Gt) 12 16' Lieblich Gedackt (Sw) 12 8' Diapason (Gt) 8' Melodia (Gt) 8' Stopped Diapason (Sw) 4' Octave (Gt) All couplers including sub/super |
