Builder: Rieger Orgelbauw (1986) Manuals: 2 Stops: 11 Ranks: 13 Action: Mechanical Notes: The all mechanical, tracker action instrument was built by Rieger Organ Company in Austria in 1981, for Karl Halvorson, a retired organist. It was provided to Mount Calvary in 1986. My understanding is the organ was built for Halvorson's home but he developed rheumatoid arthritis and was unable to play. One of his first piano teachers from Starbuck, Minnesota. Astrid Forde, had a son that was a member of Mount Calvary. In memory of Karl's love for music being taught by Astrid, the organ was gifted at approximately half it's value to Mount Calvary. The organ was installed and voiced by Martin Pasi. He was born in Austria and worked for the Rieger Company at the time when Mount Calvary's instrument was built. --Information and photos from Pam Carlson, Cantor, Mt. Calvary.
