Builder: Aeolian-Skinner Co., (Op. unknown), circa 1933. Manuals: Unknown Ranks: Unknown Action: Electro-pneumatic Notes: Information from James R. Stettner. In an article (September 1985 issue of The American Organist), the organ at First Lutheran was cited as a used 1933 Aeolian-Skinner, originally built for a residence. Neither the size of the organ nor the original location are given. In searching the Allen Kinzey & Sand Lawn Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner book for the years 1931 - 1935 there are 14 residence organs listed. Of these, all but 2 are accounted for. So it seems likely that this instrument was one of those. The first of these was opus 898, 1932, originally built for the Great Neck, NY. residence of G.E. Devonport (a 2/9 enlarged to 2/11 in 1934), and listed as "house and organ sold c1955; organ dispersed." And the other is opus 914, 1934, originally built for the Dayton, OH. residence of O. Lee Harrison (a 2/13), and listed as "no information." The organ was replaced in 1983 with a new 3-man. Levsen which retained the 16' Subbass, a 4' Oboe, a II-rank Scharf, and the Harp and Chimes.
