St. Rose Convent

912 Market Street
La Crosse, WI 54601

Builder: Estey Organ Co., Opus 141, 1904
Manuals: 2
Ranks: unknown
Action: Electropneumatic

Notes: The organ was located in a gallery-level case at the rear of the chapel. The installation, as originally installed, blocked a large rose window. In 1939, the Verlinden Organ Co., of Milwaukee, WI, was hired to electrify the organ and divide it into two side chambers with grilles rather than facade pipes so the center would hold a 60-voice choir and the rose window could be seen. The organ survived in this form until 1983 when it was replaced with a new Casavant organ. The Estey was dispersed/parted out.
