St. Matthew's Episcopal Church

5900 Seventh Avenue
Kenosha, WI 53140

Builder: George Jardine & Son, 1887

Notes: The date of the organ is in question. The St. Matthew's Episcopal Church website states that an organ was purchased from George Jardine & Son in the spring of 1844. Accordingly, the parish was the first in the Wisconsin territory to install an organ. When the congregation moved to its new sanctuary in 1878, the organ moved with it and continued in use until replaced by a Skinner Organ Co. instrument in 1924. The website states the Jardine organ was donated to the Church of the Intercession in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and served that church for nearly 30 years.
