Builder: Steere & Turner, Opus 279, 1889
altered by Dommer Organ Co., ca. 1980
Manuals: 2
Ranks: 14
Action: Mechanical

Notes: Installed in a chamber in the chancel, this organ received proper attention for the majority of its life. The two stops marked with an asterisk were installed by Dommer on an electric action chest, with the stop action controlled by two small switches on a black box added on the right side of the console. With the exception of the three Bourdon stops and the Great Open Diapason, the organ was enclosed in a general swell. The three Bourdons, Stopped Diapason, Melodia, and Flute d'Amour were presumably of wood, while the rest of the pipes were metal.
The organ was purchased for $2525 in 1889. It originally had a water motor to supply air pressure. Water costs by 1907 were excessive, so a decision was reached to install a smaller water nozzel on the pump for $1.97. This did not alleviate the expense, so on December 4, 1907 it was decided to purchase a 1.5 horsepower electric motor, which was installed the following February for $50.74.
