Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church

306 South Second Street
Virginia, MN 55792

Builder: Hendrickson Organ Co., Op. 50, 1981.
Manuals: 2
Ranks: 14
Stops: 12
Action: Mechanical

Notes: Charles Hendrickson (including photos) and Organ Historical Society as of 2012. The church is a "Butler Building" warehouse, originally with open exposed steel beam ceiling and high intensity canister lights. One of the lights actually started the roof of the organ case on fire until the bulb was removed. Now the church has a suspended acoustic tile ceiling and fluorescent lights. Acoustics were poor before the ceiling, and the organ is very much under-sized for the room. As one faces the altar, it is against the back wall in the left corner.  It was not voiced loud to compensate. Voiced by David Engen. Dedication played by John Ferguson. Solid oak pipe shades and carving above swell done by the late Bob Werner, who had been a member of the organ committee and then moved to St. Peter to help build it. (The Schalmey is highly mitered to fit in the small space available.)
