From a newspaper article (perhaps the St Paul Dispatch?) dated “January 1 (Dec.31), 1959”

A new sixteen-rank (sic) pipe organ will be blessed and dedicated at St. Mary’s Home in St. Paul at three o’clock, Sunday afternoon, January 4th. The organ has attracted considerable attention, since it is the first installation in the United States of an organ designed and built by the famous German organ builder, Johannes Klais, K.G., of Bonn. Dr. Klais has just recently finished the installation of the great organs in the cathedrals of Muenster, Cologne, and Frankfurt-am-Main. The instrument at St. Mary’s Home has two manuals and pedal with a total of 1104 speaking pipes. With the completion of the organ, the newly constructed Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels, patroness of the Sisters of St. Francis, will be finished in every detail.

Fr. W.J. Gibbs, pastor of the Church of St. Theresa, will bless the organ, and Fr. Richard J. Schuler of the College of St. Thomas will play a recital of organ music. The choir of the Church of the Nativity will sing several compositions by Renaissance and modern composers. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude the dedication ceremonies.

The Sisters of St. Francis, whose Generalate is near Bonn, Germany, staff the domestic department at Nazareth Hall, and operate hospitals at Shakopee, Minn., and Arcadia, Wis., in addition to their work at St. Mary’s Home, their American provincial house.
