Academy of Our Lady of Lourdes

"Assisi Heights"

1001 14th St. NW
Rochester, MN 55901

Builder: Richard Lurth, 1981
Manuals: 2
Ranks: 35
Action: Electropneumatic

Notes: This organ was originally E. M. Skinner Opus 642 of 14 ranks in the St. Mary's Hospital Auditorium in Rochester. When the Auditorium was demolished for expansion in 1981, the late Richard Lurth of Mankato moved it to the Assisi Heights chapel and enlarged it to 35 ranks. Local Rochester organists reported that it was so filled with mechanical and electrical problems that they all refused to play it. It was replaced with an Allen electronic (to which some pipes were later added). Pipes and chests reportedly went to Texas.
