The Kilgen organ was removed in 1980 (the parish had installed a digital instrument). Parts of the organ were used in several Twin Cities' churches including St. Mark's Cathedral (high-pressure Trumpet in the balcony antiphonal division and a Cornopean used in Olivet Methodist Church in Robbinsdale). The solid-oak, roll-top console was made into a desk.
--Twin Cities' AGO members.

There was no Kilgen there in the late 1950's when, during my late teen years, I was a volunteer organist for one of the Sunday services. What I played was a Wurlitzer electronic organ, a classical, not theater-style instrument. The sound came from one large speaker box sitting on a 2x4 frame. I think the organ used some sort of reed system for some of the stops...2 manuals, AGO pedalboard. Sounded terrible, but it gave me a chance to play for more tha just my own amusement.
