Notes:
“It was during the thirties that the Luther League had a fund of $1,128.00 and were ready to purchase a pipe organ, when the “Bank Holiday” was declared and the Hector Bank was forced to close. Eventually however, in 1939, a Reuter organ was purchased, installed, and dedicated, and Mrs. Weking Hallquist had an excellent instrument to play for the worship services….In 1949, after the shortages and rationing of the war years, Swedlanda celebrated its 75 Anniversary by the dedication of an extensive renovation of the church. The length of the building was increased providing a new chancel, choir loft, pastor’s study and larger kitchen space, as well as improved heating system and organ chamber. Plans and construction were by members of the church, the Hallquist Brothers, Master Builders….In 1989, the organ was extensively remodeled and a solid state console added by Ulm Orgelwerke of Sioux Falls.”
