As the suburbs of Minneapolis expanded to the west, so the “mainline” churches followed. Chapel Hills began on the extreme western edge of Edina, at a time where there were a few houses. The original Highway 169 was nearby. By the late 1960’s the church was established and growing and surprisingly enough was being served by Phyllis Diller’s husband’s brother Steve (a UCC minister). Chapel Hills is no longer on the highway, is surrounded by houses, and has continued in worship and service. Church website. |
