Swell and Choir are stacked on the left, with blower, reservoirs and swell motors in a mechanical room to their left.  Great (on slider chest) is in the center, with pedal behind, to the right and in the facade.  Skinner chests are used in the Swell and Choir, front to back.  At Macalester these chests were lined up end to end, making relatively shallow but wide chambers.  Note how the ceiling descends into the organ, restricting somewhat the pipe height at the back of the organ area.  It also acts as a megaphone to project the organ into the room.  This restricted height is perhaps the main reason the original 32' octaves of the Macalester Bourdon and Trombone could not be used.
