Notes: Hamline UMC was served for years by a 4M Hook and Hastings. When it was decided to replace the old organ in 1973, a plan was made to install an antiphonal organ in the rear gallery complete with its own console. As the original organ was removed and the new main organ installed in 1974 the antiphonal organ served as the main organ. The Hook and Hastings is now installed at Bethany Lutheran in south Minneapolis.

In January 2014, 44 16' open wood pedal pipes were added for the 16' Diapason and 10-2/3' Quintbass stops. In summer 2016 4 sampled digital ranks were added and 2 digital pedal ranks were replaced with sampled digital. The entire organ was converted to digital relay. New combination action and MIDI were included.

2024: Information about antiphonal installation from midwest Casavant representative Caroll Hanson. When I first heard this organ after installation the temperature issues of the antiphonal at a higher level than the main organ, plus the proximity to the (sometimes cold) front window made the whole organ terribly out of tune, akin to listening to glass window shattering. We hope such issues have been resolved. - David Engen
